Create your own Retablo

These beautiful memory pieces are small and personal. They also make excellent gifts for all ages. The Mexican Retablo can be traced back to the early 18th century and were originally based on popular folk art using iconography derived from Catholic Church art. We’ve brought them into the 21st century substituting paintings with photographs using your image files of events, people, animals or anything dear to you and your loved ones.

In this workshop you bring your image files and we supply the rest. Start by selecting your molding and wooden base. Then we print your image to fit the board. Assemble your pieces and add a topcoat of wax or varnish. Finally add a display hook and you’re on your way. Each piece is $30 and includes all of the supplies. Make as many or as few as you desire. With added drying time, it takes about 45 minutes to assemble one. Hint, try doing several at a time to make multiple pieces at one time.
